Description:

Reconstruction of the attic of the Tallinn University Academic Library into a center for digitizing print material is designed around a device that performs the scanning process. The building designed by Uno Tölpus and Paul Madalik in 1957-59 is equipped with a row of low windows for the attic that was initially unused. Converting it into a contemporary technical facility was a most natural step. The uppermost floor is also coupled with an access to the new roof-terrace.
